Make it shine with motion design

Video content is exploding online. Audiences are increasingly sophisticated and you need a way to stand out in the crowd.

Whether you arrive with a half-baked, hair-brained scheme or need some ideas for how your message can work through video, I’ve got you covered.

The beauty of working with me is I assemble the right team for the project and handle every aspect from development through delivery. Calling on industry professionals or riding solo if necessary — I use the right tools for the job.

What separates me from the competition is an emphasis on post-production and motion graphics. Videos don’t have to be only talking heads anymore. There is a rich repertoire of animation techniques that breathe a modern feel into any production.

About me

Hi! I’m Ed! Video has been a lifelong pursuit. From shooting “action movies” in my backyard as a kid and laying on the basement floor with VCRs and camcorders to edit — to delivering documentary television for international distribution.

Video fascinates me because it combines cutting edge technology with ancient paradigms of storytelling and emotion. The content can cover anything on this planet earth and beyond and projects become catalysts for my continued learning.

Interest in video took me from my hometown of Toronto to the University of Regina (weird right!). It was there I met my wife (a Sask born belle) and decided to settle down in Saskatoon.

My pro-career started in 2010 shooting for a documentary television series called Hell on Hooves. I soon took on the task of editing the show as well. The series was a fantastic learning experience and I still reminisce fondly.

Corporate gigs including live shows such as the Huskies Off the Leash Luncheon and Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner became my bread and butter.

In 2013 I accepted a part-time position at CTV Saskatoon. I was quickly initiated into the fast-paced, rip and read world of local television news. Balancing freelance work and a job was a challenge that built my character and professionalism in a way I’d always dreamed.

My skills in post-production and graphics were noticed and I was offered a full time job in the creative department shooting, editing, writing and producing commercials. This is when I truly dialed in and pushed my understanding of motion graphics.

I left CTV in an effort to modernize my delivery of video content to match the demands of clients and audiences of today.

What comes next… remains a mystery!
